Air Fryer Sausage Rolls

You can’t go past these amazing sausage rolls. The Air Fryer cooks them to perfection in 12 minutes, because you want the first dozen to be ready quickly for hungry people! While they are devouring the first lot, you can be cooking the second round. If you don’t have an Air Fryer, then pop them into a preheated oven (180) for about 20 minutes.

This is one of those quick and easy, minimal effort recipes you need in your repertoire. It requires only a handful of ingredients but packs a hefty flavour punch.


Ingredients:

  • 500g mince (can use any type of mince including pork)

  • 3 sheets puff pastry

  • 1 brown onion - finely chopped

  • 1 carrot - grated

  • 1 cup bacon pieces

  • 1 stalk of spring onions -finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves- minced of finely chopped

  • Sesame seeds

  • 4 tbsp butter -melted


Herbs & Spices:

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried coriander

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Utensils:

- Fry pan

- Air Fryer

- Cutting board & Knife

- 1 large mixing bowl


Pinch steps: (PHOTO BELOW)

Pinch 1: Add oil to a medium - high heat pan. Add onion, bacon and garlic. Cook till nice and brown or softened. Remove mixture to paper towel to cool once browned.

Pinch 2: Remove puff pastry from freezer to come to room temperature.

Pinch 3: In a large bowl add mince, carrot, spring onions and spices. Add onion and bacon mixture to large bowl once cooled.

TURN AIR FRYER ON TO PREHEAT - 200 DEGREES

Pinch 4: With you hands incorporate mixture together until it all sticks together.

Pinch 5: Place one sheet of puff pastry on a cutting board or bench. Grab a hand full of mince placing it along side the edge of the pastry, shaping mince into a long sausage shape.

Pinch 6: Roll pastry over nice and tight making sure the mince doesn't escape as you roll.(keep it tight) Then cut along side the roll. Continue until all mince mixture has been used.

Pinch 7: Then cut four small squares out of one long roll to make four small sausages rolls. Brush with melted butter and topped with sesame seeds.

Pinch 8: Cook for twelve - fifteen mintures at 200 degrees in the air fryer or until puff pastry is nice and golden.


TIPS & TRICKS:

1. There are so many different combinations that can fill these wonderful sausage rolls. The secret though, is to make sure you don’t overfill them when rolling them up. Otherwise, they’ll pop open when you are baking them. (still edible though, so don’t despair).
